Back online!

I hope THAT never happens again! 2 1/2 weeks off-line! Sheesh! I can still remember when I was an "Internet Virgin"!!! And here I am, complaining about living without it! LOL!

But, I'm back, at last--and another year older. Now officially 59 and 'holding'! At least I'm honest--our darling daughter thinks she needs to go around telling folks she's 49. At 37, she looks like a really well-preserved 49!!!

Speaking of DD--she baked me one mean, chocolate cake for my birthday! :D And she and her brother conspired (with ample help from their mates) to buy me a VERY nice, built-from-scratch, wooden glider for the front yard. :) Which, on the 'down' side, means I have to keep part of the yard mowed AND means we're nomadic life isn't so nomadic these days.

Keith went to work!!! WAAAAHOOO! It's only a 3 week "turn around" at the Marathon refinery, but it's WORK! He bounces out at 5:30 AM, and rumbles off on "his" sidehack 45 minutes later...happy as a clam! :)

I finally got brave enough to go for a ride in the hack last weekend. Not that I have anything to worry about with his riding ability, but he IS still a novice on 3 wheels.... :) We rode back the private road to my stepfather's place and got accosted by the "private property Nazis", demanding to know what business we had back there in their 'private' community! SHEESH! I guess we looked a lot more dangerous than we thought.... LOL! Nice to know we've still "got it"! :D We never managed to scare anyone, back in our Goldwing Days....

On the 'puppy front': Little ReRun remains clueless as to the reason we cart his hairy little doggy butt outdoors at frequent intervals. Obviously, the little guy came from a puppy mill. No mommy to teach him not to soil his 'nest'. He loves being outdoors and will stay out for as long as we let him--and then come inside and pee on the carpet! Or worse. After a week of sleeping in our bed at night, he made a puddle in the bed 2 nights in a row--so now he sleeps on the floor! In all my years of puppy training, I've NEVER had one like this. He's smart--that's not the problem. I've also never had one that was snatched from its mother as soon as it could eat solid food....

Sunday night, he left his nylon puppy bone on the wood floor at the foot of the stairs, and when he whined in the middle of the night, and I got up to take him outdoors (just for training purposes), I stepped on it and landed on my backside on the edge of the bottom step, with an ankle under me. At my age, I could broken a hip over that one--but didn't, thank goodness! My injuries DID get me 2 days of undivided attention from my grandson, tho.... :) Okay, I had to compete with a Game Boy, or whatever they call those things these days... but it was nice to have him around.

Okay, much emailing, Group postings etc. to read. So I'm off.....

Out of Touch

A WEEK WITH NO INTERNET????? 5 MORE DAYS TO GO.... I can't believe this mickey mouse outfit--but they did have a lot of drowned equipment during the flooding. ... I'm supposed to be thrilled that the backlog is only 1 week, instead of the 2 weeks that it used to was...?
