105 degrees??? If I wanted to spend the summer in AZ, I'd go there! Even here on the Hill, under all these trees, it'd be unbearable without air conditioning! Once the sun hits this RV, it's an oven!
Hubby is still working 6 days a week, building I-69. He gets back here for about 24 hours a week--and sleeps half of that. I'm just washing and hanging out laundry, washing and refilling hummer feeders, pouring water and feeding my "porch tomatoes" and bowl of petunias. And getting blood tests and CT scans and visiting my doc. Never a dull moment!
Here we are, sitting on our hill! We have wheels, but we're not movin' right now!

I've never understood why it seems necessary to 'tweek' websites. Took me some heroics just to find my way back into blogger. THAT's why I haven't posted in ages--and might not again! LOL!
Keith's back working and parked his reconditioned motorhome in an rv parking lot, right next to the highway. Gravel lot, no trees, gas station on one side, car wash on the other. I'll be sitting here on The Hill again this summer.

Happy 2012
Long story short: Job ended, unemployment insurance has been fouled up by the State, no trip to SD.

Fall.....
So, it's felt like Fall for a few days...now they tell us it's going to be summer for a few, with storms, maybe. Whee! Happy Labor Day!
I guess the good news is that Keith (and his grubby laundry, of course) will come home Friday and not leave until Monday. :) Living alone out here in the boonies got 'old' weeks ago! Last week, he worked 72 hours (15 in one day). This week, he's gotten 8 hours, total, so far. He'll probably pick up another 30. Feast or famine.
This job should end in 2 months...then we have to make an early Winter run to SD to winterize our little, unfinished house and fetch home the tools he left out there, when he thought we were going back in May. Wouldn't have to make the trip out, but the neighbors who lured us out there in the first place, have decided to leave for Florida early in October--and probably never move back. With any luck, we'll get the house finished next Spring and can put it on the market and hopefully recoop the money, if not the labor, that has gone into it. It's a shame--it's shaping up to be a cute little place, despite the fact that it only has one bedroom. But, we can't leave it unguarded 80% of the time....
Anyway, I've got the living room curtains done in the little motor home. Was going to finally put Kilz on some of the walls and paint...but is going to be too hot. Guess I'll set up the sewing machine and get the kitchen curtains done, finally. If it doesn't interfere with my napping.... :D

Almost...
Fall is getting closer. It's getting dark a lot earlier and light a bit later--and the heat wave broke. :)
Work on the motorhome has slowed to the point where I can slip inside and do things without tripping over tools and seats and parts. He nutses out whenever I say the word "paint", so I've opted to just put up the curtains rods and make the drapes, for now.... They look great! The new booth cushions came the other day--they look fantastic! Now I'm working on coordinating the kitchen, before I tackle upholstering the couch. I was hoping I'd be sitting in a campground in S. IN, doing all this, but the 'chief mechanic' got called back to work before he got around to making himself 'do' the brakes. Ah well, more money for the renovations. :D It's going to be so much more comfy as a 'get away' rig than the truck camper!
I sure am ready for a vacation to SOMEWHERE this year. Jared got my SD trip this spring (and we got a fully installed heat system for our little house, in trade).
So I've barely been off the Hill this year. *she whined* And have spent a lot of time alone here (except for the dogs) when Keith is down South working. Even the other Holmeses have been gone, since Jared has had to 'travel' to find any work. Luckily, they got a motorhome loaned to them!
Walnuts are beginning to fall and it's about 3 weeks until persimmon season. Looks like I'll busy picking and rubbing, since H'ville is having a Persimmon Festival for the first time this year. Now, if I could just find someone younger and fitter to collect the persimmons for me...

HOT!
Set a record high today--102. :(
On a happier note: Our awning fabric came today. Now we'll find out if Keith is as smart as he thinks he is, and can actually cut down the antique 20' roller and put a 17' awning on our motorhome!

Steaming in IL....
Well, it quit raining and storming every other day...in fact, we can't even get a BREEZE, now. But Keith got to go back to work. He paid his rent for a month (3 weeks ago) and hadn't worked since, until today. He did get a lot done on his aluminum chariot, tho! Fixed the gray and black tanks, got the toilet back in place and all the plumbing works! There's a shiny, new electric fridge in place of the old, worn out RV fridge, the ancient AC works well and has a newer cover on it, the engine work has begun.... I'm in charge of removing miles of goopy black sealant put on each and every seam on the coach--whether it needed it or not! I'll soon have the entire back done so we can give it a "rattle can" paint job. Oh, and he put an awning over the back window--not exactly necessary, but we had 2 leftovers that never got installed on their intended rv years ago. :)
Sure is nice to be back online, after being internet-less for days!
