I keep thinking that it has to quit raining sometime! But noooooooo! The grass keeps growing and the water gets deeper....
So, one day we decided that we really need to get rid of our "Escape Rig" (the 1-ton truck and old slide-in camper) because there just isn't room in it for 2 big people and a pair of dogs--which means that when Keith is working away from home, there's just not room for us to go too. Searched Craig's List, rv ads of all kinds and finally thought we'd found just the thing. A 2 hour drive to see it--and it was horrible! Every seam and window leaks, the bed was soaked (front and back), there was rot starting in the cabinets...well, you get the idea. The guy who has it got hosed when he bought it last spring. He knew nothing about motorhomes, and never got around to putting it on the road--except to drive it home from where he bought it. :( Shame, too, cause it was a very nice lay-out and it ran good. For a guy who's retired, with tons of time and skill, it was a great fixer upper, I guess--not so much for a guy who needs to live from week to week in it.... Back to the internet search, I guess.... We really need to find an older class C.
Meanwhile, hubby and son are packing up to make a flying trip to SD to work on the house for a couple of weeks. I'm excited! In 2 weeks they can get the furnace hooked up, ceilings installed, wiring run for the kitchen... Depending on job availability this summer, (if it ever stops raining), we can go back out and finish making it a really cute little house--at long last!
I've cranked out 4 headbands in the past few weeks. Maybe I'll be able to sell a few when I get back to the SD prairies!
